Yesterday, I had the joy of three wonderful times of worship… two at our church and then a gathering for a Tres Dias Secuela, which is also a time of worship, fellowship, laughter, and shared stories. What a blessing it was to be surrounded by so many friends, to simply be together. There’s something powerful that happens when we come together as the Body of Christ—walls come down, encouragement flows freely, and hearts are refreshed.
As I reflect this morning on that beautiful day yesterday, I’m also looking ahead with excitement. This week brings the launch of a grief book club at our shed and a new women’s Bible study at New Hope with two different sessions! More opportunities to sit with others, dive into God’s Word, and build deeper relationships.
It’s so easy to underestimate the power of connection. We live in an age of social media, where we’re supposedly more connected than ever. And yet, studies show that people are lonelier now than ever before. That’s because digital connection is not a substitute for real community. God did not create us to live in isolation. From the beginning, He said, “It is not good for man to be alone” (Genesis 2:18). We were made in the image of a relational God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – and we thrive when we live in relationship with one another.
True connection is about more than just proximity or shared interests… it’s about presence. It’s showing up. It’s taking time. It’s listening deeply. It’s praying together, crying together, and laughing until your sides hurt.
So we need to be intentional in seeking out community. We need to value gatherings, big or small, where hearts connect and faith is stirred. Whether it’s worship, a book club, a Bible study, or coffee with a friend… these moments matter. They remind us that we’re not alone and that together, we are stronger.

Who in your life needs connection right now?
What step can you take this week to deepen your community, whether by showing up, reaching out, or simply being present?
