Meeting God in the Morning (and in the Middle)

By

I know I’ve said this so many times before, but here I go again… There’s something so sacred about the early morning hours. The world hasn’t fully awaken, the noise hasn’t started yet, and the pace of the day hasn’t pulled us into a thousand directions. In those quiet moments, before the phone starts ringing, the notifications ping, and the demands begin, we have a choice: to meet with God or to rush into the day on our own strength.

I know that I need this early morning time with the Lord. When life is busy (and isn’t it always?), that’s not the time to cut Him out. It’s the time to lean in harder. That simple act of opening the Bible and focusing my heart on Him first has changed how I walk through everything else. It’s not just about checking a box. It’s about reorienting my soul, inviting His presence to go before me, and allowing His Word to direct my steps.

And here’s the beautiful truth: God isn’t only the God of our valleys, when we’re desperate and hurting. He’s not just the God of the mountaintop moments, when everything feels victorious and clear. He is also the God of the in-between… the ordinary, the mundane, the “just another Tuesday” parts of our lives.

God walks with us through the grocery list, the school drop-offs, the meetings, the errands, and the unexpected interruptions. And for that, I am so incredibly thankful.

I need Him on the mountaintops and in the valleys, but I know I need Him just as much in the middle. How about you?

Today, and every day, let’s start with Him. Before we start running, let’s sit. Before we speak, let’s listen. Before we act, let’s ask God to lead. He’s already in our day – waiting to guide, to strengthen, to fill us with peace.

Let’s not miss Him.
