This morning, my heart is full. Yesterday, I had the joy of witnessing a sacred moment – the wedding of my dear friend and ministry partner, Kaylee, as she became Mrs. Hamon. A beautiful young woman with a heart for Jesus, Kaylee has been a blessing in my life in ways I never expected.
When we first met, I stepped into the role of mentor. I hoped to encourage her in her walk with Christ, to share wisdom from my own journey. What I didn’t anticipate was how much she would end up teaching and encouraging me. Her energy, her questions, her passion for serving women, her hunger for (and knowledge of) God’s Word… these have renewed my own. It has reminded me that discipleship is not a one-way street. The Holy Spirit speaks through both the “seasoned” 😉 and the young, weaving wisdom and wonder together for His glory.

Kaylee and I have served side by side in women’s ministry, planning, praying, and pouring into others. In the process, God has knit our hearts together, not just as mentor and mentee, but as friends… true friends, sisters in Christ, partners in the gospel.
Now, as I watch her step into this new season of marriage with Matt, I am reminded of how beautiful intergenerational relationships can be. I’m also reminded that the church is not just a gathering of people the same age or stage, but a family rich in experience, youth, wisdom, and hope.
This early morning, I give thanks for the gift of Kaylee. I give thanks for all the younger women, like my own beautiful daughters and so many others I serve, that God is raising up. I give thanks for the many women more “seasoned” than I, who mentor me and fill my life with wisdom and hope and show me the love and grace of Christ. And I give thanks that I get to walk alongside them all – to teach and to learn. Happy blessed Sunday, friends!
