More Than We Can Imagine

By

This past weekend, I stood once again on holy ground at ROCK Camp, watching the Spirit of God move in ways that words can barely contain. It was my second time serving this summer, and I had looked forward to it with great anticipation. But in between the last camp and this one, life threw a curveball. As the week approached, that curve ball, which is a very tender and dear serious health emergency in my family, made it seem impossible for me to leave home. I prayed. I wrestled. I watched. I waited.

By midweek, there was a small glimmer – things began to settle. Still, I was unsure. Then came Thursday night’s anointing service. I’ve been anointed before, but this time felt different. The peace of God didn’t just descend on me, it sealed me. A holy assurance whispered, “You can go. I’ve got this.” I knew I could trust God with what I was leaving behind (and I’d only be 35 minutes from home).

What followed was a weekend of wonder. I witnessed the Holy Spirit move through camp like a mighty rushing wind, tender and powerful. All of the campers talked about how they encountered Him in ways that changed them. Six campers gave their lives to Christ! Team members (those working/leading the camp, like me) encountered Him, too. The Holy Spirit was undeniable! And these young people taught me about the places Jesus had already met them—in pain, in joy, and in the in-between. They reminded me that God never leaves or forsakes His children.

And I almost missed it.

I almost let fear and worry steal the chance to stand in the middle of a spiritual harvest. I nearly said “no” to something God had already made a way for. But God, in His mercy, invited me into something immeasurably more.

Ephesians 3:20 came alive before my eyes: “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…”

I had asked for peace. He gave me peace and purpose.

I had imagined stability at home. He provided that and revival at camp.

I asked to see Him move. He moved beyond what I could have dreamed.

Friends, if you’re wrestling with uncertainty, if you’re tempted to say “no” to the call because of the “what ifs”, remember this: God sees the end from the beginning. He is already present in the future you’re afraid of. Trust Him. Obey Him. Step out. Because He is able. And when He moves, He doesn’t just meet expectations, He exceeds them.

Let this testimony be a reminder that obedience opens the door to divine encounters. And the same Spirit who showed up at ROCK is at work in your life, too. 🥰 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!
