A Walk with a Friend

By

Yesterday, I walked with a friend who recently moved back to the area. We had years to catch up on. We set out… no phones, no distractions, just the two of us and God’s beautiful creation. We wandered along a path blooming with flowers and flanked by trees. It was quiet except for a dog or two, our conversation, and the occasional rustle of wind through the leaves. It felt like God was gently reminding us to slow down and notice the little things.

Near the end of our walk, she bent down and picked up a tiny pinecone, perfectly formed, still attached to a sprig of green pine. It was such a simple thing, but there was beauty and wonder in it, God’s fingerprint in miniature. She smiled and held it like a treasure. That moment became a symbol of nearly 4 mile walk: rediscovering joy in the little things, reconnecting without distractions, and being fully present.

It reminded me how God speaks in stillness, in nature, and in friendship. Sometimes, we find Him not just in quiet time alone, but in the quiet moments shared with someone else who also seeks Him. In that sacred space, walking side by side, we rediscovered not only each other, but also God’s peace.

When was the last time you stepped away from distractions to truly be present in nature, in conversation, in the quietness of God’s creation?

    Good morning Dana🌞

Who would know that after over a decade, that we’d reconnect not as co-workers, but Sisters in Christ? Jesus knew. He directs our steps.

I thought about how our Father creates beauty from ashes. How life in Christ is so fulfilling.

Im blessed by your post. Your observations and tender heart. Keep seeking mercy and walking humbly with our God 🙏🙏🙏

I tried to post a comment on your site, but it kept redirecting me.
