Life Update

I’m baaaaaccckkk!

Hi, Friends! I am so excited to share an update and get back to writing as life is settling back down. Life ebbs and flows, for sure, but it has been so good. God is in it all, and remembering that, is key to staying afloat in deep waters. Those closest to me know that after much prayer and discernment I left The United Methodist Church. The decision was not an easy one and came over the course of several months and a series of events that God used to move me. The most difficult part was leaving the local church I was serving. The people of Paw Paw UMC will always hold a special place in my heart. We did God’s work together in a way that we were able to see tangible evidence of God’s blessing. I still pray for those special people daily. God continues to move and I am trying to keep up. In January, Jeff and I began worshipping at New Hope Fellowship in Rochelle. Jeff and I both served on the past two Tres Dias weekends (Spring and Fall 2024), myself as a Spiritual Director, and keeping up with the Holy Spirit over those days was both energizing and wore me out in a way that only God’s work can. I completed my application, references and paperwork for my pastoral credentials to be switched to Church of God (Anderson) and met with the Credentials Team on September 9th. I received my pastoral license following that meeting and am eager to see what God is doing next. My current ministry with Serenity Hospice and Home as Bereavement Services Manager is both humbling and rewarding. I am able to be present with people in some of the most vulnerable, yet holy moments of time. I am still engaged in public speaking and Jeff and I spent this past Sunday worshipping with WatersEdge Church in Shorewood, where I was invited to share my testimony. God is so good. My plan is to begin sharing devotions on this site weekly. I have made this plan before and let life get in the way, but am committing to it today. As we approach the holiday season, it will help me (and hopefully others) remember what’s important. I am really looking forward to what God is doing and sharing it all with you. Peace and every good thing, my friends!
